Chief Justice Jeffrey Funke delivered his first State of the Judiciary address to Nebraska state senators.
The executive order directs state agencies and departments to “review their rules, policies, and practices and to ensure they support federal immigration laws and directives to the fullest extent permitted by law.”
LB 556 would change the jurisdiction of juvenile and adult criminal courts to allow for criminal charging of 12-year-olds and secure detention for children as young as 11.
