Dafnis serves as the Communications Strategist at the ACLU of Nebraska, where she leverages nearly a decade of experience in digital media and communications to advance civil rights and liberties across the state.
Dafnis joined the ACLU of Nebraska after working in Nebraska’s child welfare system for three years, where she helped recruit CASA Volunteer Advocates to amplify the voices of children impacted by the child welfare system, ensuring their stories were heard so they would have the best advocacy possible. She also developed and executed fundraising campaigns, created marketing collateral, and managed websites and digital platforms. Among her notable achievements, Dafnis spearheaded CASA for Douglas County’s largest-ever Giving Tuesday campaign in 2023, grossing more than double the original goal.
Dafnis earned a degree in Journalism and Media Communication, with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She brings a diverse skill set in photography, videography, graphic design, and digital tools. Passionate about amplifying marginalized voices, Dafnis draws on her lived experience as an immigrant to champion the rights of Nebraskans of color, women, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community.
