As Development Associate, Adairah works in tandem with the team, supporters and donors in advancing the ACLU of Nebraska's mission to protect and expand civil rights and civil liberties in Nebraska.
Adairah joined the ACLU of Nebraska after working in Nebraska’s child welfare system for three years, providing advocacy to children who have been abused and/or neglected at CASA for Douglas County. While working in child advocacy, Adairah spent a lot of her time working on EDI initiatives and development. As the chair of the first ever EDI committee at her organization, Adairah established and implemented equitable, diverse and inclusive practices and policies. Additionally, Adairah provided statewide trainings on inclusive advocacy and cultural competency to bring awareness of disparities in the child welfare system.
An Omaha native, Adairah received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in Political Science and Human Rights studies.
Growing up in an activist household, Adairah was involved with numerous grassroot organizations such as Nebraskans for Peace and the Omaha Women’s Day March. Adairah continues to be involved in her community and is a member of the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Young Professionals, and is a graduate of the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands’ Rising Leader Institute cohort.
